Long Bay Resort Guests Can See Myrtle Beach on Foot

When you’re on vacation, limiting stress is always on the agenda. For many vacationers, that means avoiding the car and doing what you can to see the sights on foot. And if you’re staying at Long Bay Resort, it’s easy to leave the car behind. We’re centrally located, so you’ll have plenty of options for fun and entertainment within walking distance right here in Myrtle Beach.

Hungry? Check out Martin’s Restaurant right on the Long Bay Resort grounds. It’s a family affair, run by Martin Dobr, who has been serving up delicious breakfasts and upscale dinners at Martin’s since 1994. Before relocating to Myrtle Beach, Martin gained extensive experience cooking everywhere from his native Prague to Alaska, Hawaii and Hollywood’s Beverley Wilshire Hotel.

Martin’s serves “The Grand Breakfast Buffet” daily from 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (summer breakfast hours: 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.), with everything from an omelet station to French toast, pancakes, fresh baked goods and hot cereal. Dinner menus feature such delicacies as escargot crostini, scallop cakes and Caesar salads prepared tableside.

Also, on the Long Bay Resort property is a full-service Starbucks, where you can get your favorite Starbucks caffeine injection or a signature Starbucks snack.

If you’d like to head a little further afield, you can head north to the River City Café. Start with a handful of peanuts, toss the shells on the floor and then load up on signature apps, burgers and platters. Don’t-miss menu items include the fried green bean straws with chipotle ranch, the juicy burgers, and sandwiches like the mahi Reuben.

Ready to really go for it? Try the “Holy Cow” burger platter with Texas BBQ, Swiss mushrooms, Carolina chili cheese and fried onion strings heaped on two slices of Texas toast.

Another great spot near Long Bay Resort is just a 10 minute walk over to King’s Highway: Jungle Safari miniature golf. Waterfalls and streams will challenge the whole family on this fun miniature golf course.

If you do make your way over to Kings Highway, you might as well make a stop at Kaminsky’s New York Deli on King’s Highway and 72nd Avenue. This authentic deli is popular with locals and visitors alike, so you may want to prepare yourself for a wait. Kaminsky’s is open for breakfast and lunch from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

If you’re looking for fun on foot, don’t forget the beach! We’re an oceanfront Myrtle Beach resort, so all the sun and sand of the Grand Strand is basically right outside your back door.

So if you’re the kind of traveler who likes to leave commuting behind when you’re on vacation in Myrtle Beach, remember that Long Bay Resort has many walkable choices that will make it easy for you to get outside and enjoy the gorgeous Myrtle Beach sunshine.
