While many of the 30,000 fans expected to attend the Carolina Country Music Festival will arrive by shuttle or pay top dollar for parking, guests at Bay View on the Boardwalk can take three easy routes to the former Pavilion site – a few blocks down Ocean Boulevard, a short stroll down the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, or a scenic stroll walk on the beach. All three paths lead to good times and hot fun in the Myrtle Beach sun to some of the biggest names in country music today.

This year’s lineup includes headliners Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney and Darius Rucker, along with more than 30 other acts playing on two outdoor stages in the downtown district. The kickoff party is set for Thursday night, June 8, with a show by an act that is still to be announced, as is the schedule of bands for the following three days of non-stop music. But the CCMF has established a strong track record of providing quality acts, and this year’s headliners are off the charts.

According to the Recording Industry Artists Association, Aldean is the top digital country music artist of all-time. Among his 17 No. 1 hits is one that could very well serve as the theme song for this year’s CCMF – “A Little More Summertime”. Aldean’s recent release of his seventh studio album “They Don’t Know” debuted at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts. Fellow Georgia native Kip Moore was also added to the lineup, giving fans from the Peach State one more reason to cheer.

Country music lovers from the state of Tennessee, and members of the aptly named No Shoes Nation, will also be well represented by Chesney. The eight-time Entertainer of the Year Award winner will deliver his high-energy show just steps from the Atlantic Ocean – the perfect setting for his “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems” anthem. Among his 28 No. 1 hits are “American Kids”, “When the Sun Goes Down”, “Save It For A Rainy Day” , “Anything But Mine” and “You & Tequila”.

Perhaps the biggest crowds could be for South Carolina’s native son Darius Rucker, a three-time Grammy Award winner and Country Music Artist of the Year. Rucker got his start with rock band Hootie & the Blowfish that used to play at small clubs on the Grand Strand back in the mid-1990s, has made a huge crossover splash into the world of country music. His No. 1 hits include “Alright”, “Wagon Wheel”, “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It” and “It Won’t Be Like This For Long”.
