Liberty Taproom & Grill, 7651 N. Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach, is a few minutes away from Ocean Reef. And with 36 beers on tap, it is a choice spot to get distinctive brew. In addition, Liberty Taproom has a happy hour that distinguishes itself from the pack because of it’s daily and has cool prices.

Happy hour, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. (now and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. during the summer), includes a variety of appetizers, including ahi tuna salad ($7), blue cheese chips ($4), buffalo wings ($6) and vodka shots ($2).

Other deals include prime rib, with two sides, for $19 (12-ounce portion) or $21 (16-ounce portion). There is also a children’s menu with chicken fingers, macaroni and cheese, and other items.

Still, Ocean Reef’s amenities, accommodations and stellar service – not its closeness to local eateries and other businesses – are the primary reasons why guests repeatedly choose Ocean Reef as their home away from home.

“One thing I can say as a regular customer at Ocean Reef [is] David Borgmeyer is the best manager I’ve ever dealt with in my life,” said Charles C. Dickerson, via the resort’s Facebook page. “David is kind, helpful, smart and overall great guy. Thank you Ocean Reef for having David on staff. And thank you David for all you do for me and my friends and family.”

Kelly Ebner Maher, another fan of Ocean Reef, is counting down the days until she returns.

“Can’t wait…May come quick,” Maher said via Facebook. “Love coming to this resort every year. “Need a relaxing week by [the] poolside with a dirty banana [drink] catching some sun and evening walks on the beach.”

Krystina Goolsby lauded Ocean Reef for its coziness, as well as for its strategic location.

“There really is no place more comfortable to stay,” Goolsby said on Facebook. “[It is] far enough north to be away from the crowds and yet not in North Myrtle [Beach]. [It is] close to a Starbucks and one of the best places on the beach to get a cheeseburger – River City Cafe.”
