Plan Ahead to Make the Most of Myrtle Beach’s Black Friday Sales!
If you’re planning to be in Myrtle Beach over the Thanksgiving Holiday, there’s no reason you can’t get a little shopping done, too, if you’re so inclined. There are plenty of options to get your Black Friday shopping fix while you’re here.
Like in many areas around the country, many Myrtle Beach stores have turned Black Friday into Black Thursday and Friday by offering sales and discounts starting on Thanksgiving Day. In 2012, Bass Pro Shops, Kmart and Old Navy all opened between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, and are expected to follow suit in 2013. Target and the Tanger Outlets opened for Black Friday after 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving, and saw very good crowds taking advantage of the sales.
Here are a few tips for making the most out of your black Friday:
• Do online research
The ads usually come out on Thanksgiving Day, which doesn’t give you much time for planning. You can usually get a good sneak peek by visiting some popular Black Friday websites, including black-Friday.net and bfads.com. You can use the insider info on these sites to come up with your shopping list, but be sure to check against the ads once they come out, as the sites aren’t always 100 percent accurate.
• Do in-store recon
If you’re Black Friday shopping while on vacation, keep in mind that the stores here in Myrtle Beach may not be laid out the same as yours at home. Head to the Target, Wal-Mart or mall you plan on shopping and so you know the lay of the land. Making a wrong turn could mean missing the last hot-ticket item!
• Price compare
Don’t assume that just because something’s on a Black Friday sale that it’s necessarily the best price. You may be able to do better elsewhere.
• Focus your efforts
Don’t try to get all your Christmas shopping done on Black Friday. It’s too crowded and you’ll likely wear yourself out. Just focus on the bargains, and leave the rest of the list for later. And remember, you have to schlep all the stuff you purchase home!
