Review on the Bay View Resort
By Terry Massey
The Bay View Resort has long been a part of the downtown Myrtle Beach area. Now it's also in the heart of the new Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade.
The new 1.2-mile oceanfront walkway winds right through the Bay View's back yard, which is almost midway between the Second Avenue and 14th Avenue piers.
That makes the Bay View the perfect Myrtle Beach place to stay and stroll to many of the new offerings that have sprang up along the Boardwalk and revitalized downtown area.
Many new restaurants and bars, such as Sharkey's, Oceanfront Bar and Grill and the Second Avenue PierView open-air cafe are walking distance down the beach.
But best of all, the Bay View Resort is the perfect place to stay and relax with all the amenities you look for in a fine hotel without having to leave the property.
The rooms are spacious, clean and contain all the luxuries of home - fully equipped kitchens, TV, wireless internet and private oceanfront and oceanview balconies.
But you don't come to the beach to stay inside all the time. The Bay View offers easy access to the ocean, an open deck for lounging in the sun and indoor pools.
Virtually the entire first floor is a covered pool deck with something for all ages - a swimming pool, lazy river, hot tub and a kiddie pool with an umbrella waterfall.
The Bay View also provides a full exercise and fitness room, a shuffleboard court and other fun ways to spend time with friends, family and fellow vacationers.
You don't have to leave the resort to enjoy a hot cup of coffee or a refreshing snack for lunch or breakfast. An on-site Starbucks offers all options you're craving.
But the location provides easy access to everything, from strolling Ocean Boulevard to take in all the new amusements to the downtown area to a short drive to reach Broadway at the Beach, an enormous retail complex that offers great shopping, a wide array of restaurants and bars and lots of entertainment opportunities.
Of course, golf is what attracts many visitors to the Grand Strand and the Bay View can arrange your tee time on virtually any of the 100 golf courses in the area.
And if you really want a taste of the good life, let the Bay View set up your relaxation time at the Cinzia Spa at North Beach Plantation for a full day of pampering.
Whatever way you wish to spend the precious time on your Myrtle Beach vacation, the Bay View has you covered.
