World Championship Chili Cook-Off

The International Chili Society (ICS) has been bringing chili lovers together since 1967. ICS normally holds over 100 events each year to continuously improve chili and raise money for charities and nonprofits. ICS holds a World Chili Championship Cook-off (WCCC) and crowns World Champions to celebrate each year’s pro-chili season. The 54th annual World Championship Chili Cook-off takes place at the Burroughs and Chapin Pavilion Place in Myrtle Beach. The event will take place September 23-25, 2022.

This event is great for chili lovers who are dying to taste award-winning chili. You can participate in the People’s Choice Judging at the cook-off by tasting any five of our competition teams’ chili and vote for your favorite one. If you want to taste more than five, don’t worry, attendees can purchase as many tasting tickets as their appetite desires. There will be a VIP Lounge and many Chili Challenges. The World Championship Chili Cook-off is great for families, too, because they have a family fun zone with competitive food games and prizes to volleyball tournaments.

If you and your child are interested in learning recipes and cooking them, you can sign up for Pepper Sprouts Cooking Class. This interactive cooking class will be taught by Mr. Chilihead (Michael Freedman) himself! Learn the basics of chili, according to the International Chili Society. A parent or guardian must accompany children, but WCCC will provide all ingredients and equipment!

There will be a Beer Garden with craft beer to domestic pours, so you can sit back and enjoy the live music playing from the Main Stage. The main stage will be hopping all weekend, with a full schedule of live entertainment.
