Winter weather got you down? Join the club and the crowds that have discovered Myrtle Beach as the ultimate spring break destination. Offering beautiful beaches and countless entertainment, shopping, dining and nightlife opportunities, Myrtle Beach provides the perfect place to beat the wintertime blues and give yourself a well-deserved break from the real world. Although there are hundreds of fun things to do in Myrtle Beach for spring break, here are five of our guests’ favorites:

  1. Attractions: You could spend the entire week exploring Myrtle Beach’s many attractions and still not hit them all. The best place to explore is right outside your door at Bay View Resort along the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. The 1.3-mile oceanfront walkway leads to Second Avenue Pier, the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel and lots of shops, restaurants and bars in the downtown district. Nearby Broadway at the Beach has Ripley’s Aquarium, WonderWorks, Hollywood Wax Museum and tons of shopping, dining and nightlife. Barefoot Landing, Market Common and the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk are also popular venues.
  2. Events: The Grand Strand knows how to throw a party, and spring seems to be the most popular time of year for fun festivals and special events. In March, the 55th Annual Can-Am Days Festival (March 12-20) continues the tradition of welcoming our neighbors from the Great White North to our sandy shores. The 28th Annual North Myrtle Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival on March 12 turns the streets of Ocean Drive into one big green party, and the Run for the Sun Car Show hits the streets on March 19. In April, check out Art in the Park (April 18-19), the Monday After the Masters Celebrity Pro-Am (April 14) and Singing in the Sun (April 20-25).
  3. Golf: The spring golf season is the ideal time to tee it up on the Grand Strand, where more than 80 championship courses are located within a 60-mile stretch of the Carolina coast. Be sure to pack your clubs and book your golf package in advance for the best available rates and to save a spot on one of your favorite courses. Ask Bay View’s experienced golf staff to help set you up with a round or two, or book your dream package at http://www.MyrtleBeachGolf.com
    .
  4. Shows: The evenings can be a bit chilly even in the spring, which presents the perfect opportunity to check out Myrtle Beach’s award-winning theater scene. Off-Broadway productions are held regularly at the Alabama Theatre, The Carolina Opry and The Palace Theatre, while national touring acts can be seen live in concert at the House of Blues and other venues. Dinner theaters like Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament and Pirates Voyage offer great food and entertainment for the whole family.
  5. Watersports: The waterparks may be closed, but the ocean is always open for business. Although the water temperature is a bit chilly, a sunny spring day is the ideal time to go deep-sea fishing or on a dolphin-watching tour. Some brave souls even hit the high seas for parasailing or jet-skiing, and there’s nothing like going kayaking or paddle boarding on a nice spring day.

No matter the weather, you can always have a splashing good time at Bay View Resort. Featuring an indoor and outdoor pool deck with lazy river, hot tubs and a splash deck for the kids, it’s always spring break at Bay View. Located in the heart of the downtown district and just steps from the Atlantic Ocean, Bay View Resort is your spring break hot spot in Myrtle Beach.
