Amusement Parks

The Grand Strand is famous for its amusement rides, and the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk is ground zero for the most hair-raising attractions. Located across Ocean Boulevard from the 190-foot Myrtle Beach SkyWheel, The Slingshot is not for the faint of heart, propelling passengers 300 feet in the air via bungee at speeds in excess of 100 mph. The Skyscaper and Air Strike offer high-flying and fast spinning rides, and Family Kingdom features the classic Swamp Fox roller coaster and more modern amusements. Broadway at the Beach is home to the Pavilion Nostalgia Park with rides for all ages ranging from wild to mild.

Helicopter Rides/Skydiving

Overcome your fear of heights by taking a ride on a whirly bird and seeing the scenic Grand Strand from an unparalleled view. Helicopter Adventures at Broadway at the Beach and Oceanfront Helicopters near The Market Common offer tours that start as low as $20 per person. Both outfits also provide longer tours that take passengers over the Atlantic Ocean and the beautiful Carolina coast. For an even higher experience, take a leap of faith from a moving airplane at Myrtle Beach Skydiving at the North Myrtle Beach Airport.

Jet Skiing/Parasailing

Soar high over the Atlantic Ocean or fly on top of it with these two popular watersports. Where guests can take part in both activities just a few blocks from the resort at Downwind Watersports, which offers parasailing tours and jet ski and banana boat rentals. Parasailing involves lifting off from a boat platform with the help of the ocean breeze and a parachute, providing picturesque views of the coast. Jet skis and banana boats offer a fast and fun way to explore the sea.

Waterparks

Want to add some chills to your thrills? The Grand Strand’s waterparks offer some of the most spine-tingling rides on the coast. Myrtle Waves Waterpark, the largest in South Carolina, boasts several screamers, such as the Turbo Twisters that plunge passengers at a rate of 50 feet per second in total darkness, and the Riptide Rockets speed flume. Wild Water & Wheels offers a mix of water slides and go-kart racing, and Splashes Waterpark is the only local aquatic playground that includes oceanfront views.

Ziplines/Ropes Courses

Get back to nature and in touch with your wild side at the Go Ape Treetop Adventures at North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex. Featuring a 300-yard zipline that spans a 50-acre lake, Go Ape also has rope swings and obstacle courses high in the forest canopy. Myrtle Beach Zipline Adventures and Radical Ropes Adventure Park provide a similar experience in a more urban setting.
