Bay View Resort is located right off the famous Myrtle Beach Boardwalk that allows you direct oceanfront views and access to all of the fun and exciting celebrations for this holiday.  Relax on our oceanfront lawns, float away in the lazy river, grab a refreshing Starbucks or take your morning stroll down the boardwalk, we really are in the heart of it all.

If you are looking at some great activities to do this holiday, we have gathered a list for you to help you plan.

Fireworks Galore — You have the best seat in the house as you can see the fireworks from the Second Avenue Pier right from your balcony, or venture out onto the boardwalk for many celebrations all night.

The Weather — OK, so it’s likely to be pretty steamy all over the U.S. on the 4th of July, but few places offer more options than the Grand Strand for escaping the heat. Beyond the miles of beaches along the Carolina coastline, the area offers water parks such as Myrtle Waves, Splashes and Wild Water & Wheels, plus other fun and unique water attractions like Shark Wake Park. Further, guests at Ocean Reef Resort have easy access to the resort’s extensive water attractions (more on those later). And don’t forget that the Grand Strand boasts an array of family-friendly indoor (and air-conditioned) attractions that’s simply too long to list.

Festivals, Fun Runs, etc. — The 4th of July brings a number of annual events and festivals to the Myrtle Beach area, including the Pawleys Island Golf Cart Parade, which sees participants parade through town on makeshift patriotic floats; the Surfside Beach 4th of July Celebration featuring live entertainment and patriotic family fun; and the Independence Day 5K and 8K at The Market Common’s Valor Park.

Family Fun on the Beach — Beyond the usual beach activities like relaxing in the sand, swimming in the surf and building sandcastles, guests at Ocean Reef Resort can get inventive during their days spent soaking up sunshine on the Carolina coast. By bringing along a few needed supplies, vacationers can enjoy a game of cornhole, start up a bocce match, crank up (or even play) a little music on the beach — the list of options is endless. Of course, whatever activity you choose, be sure to show your patriotic spirit by donning your red, white and blue attire, which — in case you forgot to pack enough for your entire Grand Strand stay — can be found in a number of area shops.

Grab your patriotic gear and get ready to have the best July 4th ever, see you soon.
