What is New in 2021 in Myrtle Beach?

Ready to get back to the beach?

The days are getting warmer, and that yearning for the sand and sun is getting stronger. It’s time to get back to all the fun things we love to do on the Grand Strand. Along with that, there are a few new features to tell you about, too.

There’s also something spectacular in the works that we’ll have to wait until 2022 to enjoy.

Coming in 2022: American Surf Park

Surf’s up, dude. The first man-made surf park is under construction and will open in 2022. American Surf Park will feature a surfing lagoon and a big amphitheater. It’ll feature some pretty radical tech and a ton of fun things for the surfer and those who haven’t yet learned. Check out the website and sign up for updates.

The Funplex

This cool tropical-themed amusement park is almost ready. The Funplex will feature six awesome rides, including a rollercoaster, in downtown Myrtle Beach. It’s the third facility of its kind, with two more in New Jersey.

Other features: Arcade, Restaurant, Space for parties and private events, Walk-up bar

The Crooked Hammock Brewery

This unique backyard cookout joint is a hit in Delaware, and it’s coming to Barefoot Landing. Enjoy burgers and brew in a beer garden with plenty to do for the family. And yes, there are hammocks here, plus cornhole, bocce ball, and picnic tables for a perfect evening out. Check out the opening tap list and make The Crooked Hammock Brewery part of your beach plans.

Grand Strand Brewery

A fabulous brewery has opened in the downtown district, overlooking Nance Square. Grand Strand Brewery features some of the best brews around and events, such as Saturday yoga. And that says nothing about the food and service, which are top-notch. It’s a welcoming vibe a block from the beach, with indoor and outdoor seating with a view.

Twelve 33 Brewery

The Grand Strand is the destination for breweries, and this one in Little River is awesome. Twelve 33 Brewery sources from local farms for a unique grain-to-glass experience. Its specialty drinks get rave reviews, and you’ll want to take a fun and informative VIP tour. Try the Intemperance Vodka, and take a bottle home with you, too.

Carolina Country Music Festival

More than 30 of the industry’s stars will descend on Myrtle Beach June 10-13. Don’t miss your chance to see Kelsea Ballerini, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Darius Rucker, and more. That’s three days of fabulous shows in the East Coast’s biggest country music event. Go in style — check out incredible hotel packages with Brittain Resorts and book today.
