Something new just opened and you really must add this to your list to check out, Bar Louie’s, a new addition in 2019 is taking the gastropub idea to new levels.
Opened in early August on The Avenue, which serves as a prime dining and entertainment district at Broadway at the Beach, Bar Louie is a national chain focused on serving chef-inspired (and often shareable) culinary creations, inventive craft cocktails and a strong selection of regional brews. The restaurant, which boasts nearly 150 locations nationwide, has taken over the “free-spirited space” previously occupied by Broadway Louie’s.

Flavorful Bar Bites
Highlights among the shareable appetizer options at Bar Louie include Flash-Fried Calamari that have been marinated in buttermilk and are served with spicy pickled peppers and giardiniera aioli; Shrimp Tempura served with spicy house-made aioli and buffalo sauce; Bavarian Pretzel Twists served soft and warm with jalapeno honey mustard; Crispy Potstickers featuring crispy pork dumplings with a sesame-ginger soy sauce; Loaded Tots with queso, fresh jalapenos and smoked bacon; and deep-fried, bone-in Pork Wings with a choice of Hawaiian BBQ or Honey Caribbean sauce.

Options among Bar Louie’s flatbread creations include Roasted Veggie with spinach, marinated artichokes, cauliflower, cherry tomatoes, caramelized onions and radishes, all accompanied by mozzarella, provolone and a garlic parmesan cream sauce; Buffalo Chicken with crumbled blue cheese, classic buffalo sauce, mozzarella, provolone and smoked onion ranch; Bourbon BBQ Pork & Pineapple with bacon onion jam, roasted pineapple, crumbled queso fresco, mozzarella, provolone, red onion and a house-made bourbon bbq sauce; and Pepperoni with giardiniera, mozzarella, provolone, parmesan and marinara.
Crisp, Craveable Greens
Salad options at Bar Louie include the Quinoa Chop with field greens, quinoa, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, radish, pickled onion, spiced chickpeas and more, all topped with crumbled queso fresco and a house-made lemon vinaigrette; the Charred Lemon Caesar with romaine, classic Caesar dressing, pretzel crumbs and parmesan; the BBQ Ranch with cherry tomatoes, applewood smoked bacon, avocado, tortilla strips and a house-made bbq ranch; and the Blue Wedge featuring a wedge of iceberg lettuce topped with crumbled blue cheese, applewood smoked bacon, pepperocinis, cherry tomatoes, picked onion and a smoked onion ranch.
Craft Burgers
Among the kicked-up burger choices found on the Bar Louie menu are the Bourbon BBQ with USDA choice beef, white cheddar, cream cheese, applewood smoked bacon, crispy onion strings and a house-made bourbon bbq sauce; the All-Nighter with USDA choice beef, an egg cooked sunny-side up, white cheddar, garlic aioli and house-made spicy candied bacon; the Gastroburger with USDA choice beef, shaved sirloin, caramelized onions, white cheddar, garlic aioli and queso; and the Six Napkins burger with two USDA choice beef slider patties that are smashed and grilled with yellow mustard, then topped with caramelized onions, double white cheddar, pickles and Louie sauce.

Among the signature sandwiches served at bar Louie are the Hot Honey Chicken with a buttermilk-marinated fried chicken breast, hot seasoning, pickles and a signature jalapeno honey, all served on a toasted brioche bun; the BBQ Pulled Pork with smoked pulled pork, a house-made bourbon bbq sauce, white cheddar and crispy onion strings, all served on a toasted brioche bun; the Turkey Club with oven-roasted turkey, applewood smoked bacon, arugula, tomato, pickled onion and giardiniera aioli served on toasted sourdough; and the Luigi with shaved sirloin, provolone, Luigi seasoning and garlic aioli on a toasted hoagie roll.

The entrée offerings at Bar Louie include Seared Salmon with Atlantic salmon, spicy cauliflower “couscous,” mint, arugula, cherry tomatoes and house-made lemon vinaigrette; a twist on chicken & waffles called Chicken & Churros featuring beer-battered fried chicken breast covered with a buffalo maple glaze and served with savory spiced churros and maple syrup; Braised Short Ribs served with roasted carrots and radishes, a red wine reduction, and crispy potato wedges; Mac & Cheese with creamy cheddar and spiced Rice Krispies; and Voodoo Pasta with jumbo shrimp, Andouille sausage and red & green bell peppers served atop cavatappi pasta and covered with a house-made spicy voodoo sauce.
